A Tag for Christmas

Just a quick peek at one of the tags I made today in my mad rush to
get all my gifts wrapped and tagged....

I started with a beautiful ornament stamp from
Heartfelt Creations and embossed it with
Silver Lightning EP from Sparkle N Sprinkle.
I stamped the poinsettia part again twice and
colored it with copics and highlighted it
with microfine glitter.  The pointsettia
was layered 3 times with dimensionals.

Although it appears to have a rainbow look, it's really
silver mirror cardstock that's been embossed
using a Darice embossing folder.
I also used Spellbinder's 2013 Christmas Snowflake Pendants
dies for the red and silver snowflakes.

Here's another rainbow view LOL...

The close-ups look more like the real thing
in all it's silvery glory.

Hope you enjoyed it...

Merry Christmas

Bag, You're It!

Found a great tutorial on You-Tube, but now I can't find it again to give you the link :(
Oh well, there are many great tutorials out there and they're very easy to do.
Start with your basic brown lunch bag and go from there.
One very helpful tip from the tutorial was to fold the lunch bag in half, the long way - making a skinny rectangle - then use your crop-a-dile to make a hole in the center of the flap end - this way you have a perfect template for your other bags!!!

I made this bag a couple of months ago as a quickie example for a club project, but have just finally taken some photos.  I used only 3 bags for this one, but you can use as many as you want.
I used miscellaneous papers and stickers that I've had around for eons... and some bling from ZVA Creative.

Here's the cover - I decided to go with a "recipe book" theme.

So - lots of blanks for recipes to be hand written.

I used grommets and rings for the binding and some
ready made recipe cards too.

Hope you enjoyed it!

Post Black Friday

I've survived another Black Friday - actually it wasn't really bad at all.
Mostly because I don't get up in the middle of the night for those
major deals LOL...    I'm happy with my regular sale things
and shop later in the day - works for me as I'm not looking
for any of those big ticket items.

Anyway - more CAS cards to share.
Keeping it simple as they all have to go in the mail.

This little snowman can't quite get a grip on his skating abilities.
He's from Whipper Snapper - colored with Copics and
highlighted with glitter - the embossing folder is Darice.

These trees are from Stampin' Up and I have resisted getting
them for a long time as I'm not a fan of the rest of the set....
They are really beautiful trees though.
They're both done by masking off an area - sponging, then stamping.
The bottom gold tree was embossed.
The Merry Christmas greeting is from Sparkle N Sprinkle.
Inks used are Memento & Stampin' Up

I just love these little images from A Muse Art Stamps.
The little bird fits perfectly on top of the car.
Colored with Copics - highlighted with lots of
microfine glitter and popped onto a Spellbinder ornament die.

Hope you've enjoyed my keepin' it simple cards.

Gift Card Purses

Here are a couple of gift card purses for holding
either a gift card, candy or other small gift.
Check under my Templates section to see the instructions for the purses.
They are so easy to make and look so elegant when finished.

I'm off to do my Black Friday shopping to find some things to fill these up!

I used the "bow maker" die from Sizzix - so so so so simple!!!
Just love the polka dot CS and the pretty lime green color.
The bow and other parts are done with glitter paper from Recollections.

This one has a few different elements.
Beautiful ribbon from SU
a Darice embossing folder
A pretty SU border punch
Dies from SU
Scor-tape and microfine glitter
and a silver star from an old stash recently found!

Hope you like them.

Another CAS Christmas card

Here's another sweet Whipper Snapper image -
colored with Copics and highlighted with glitter.

The background CS is glittery too.  Popped the image up
using my Spellbinder dies.

Thanks for checkin' in with me.

Keepin' it simple

Starting my Christmas cards a little late, but better than never...
Here's a jolly Santa from Whipper Snapper to start with....
Still keeping it CAS for now... big plans for later.

Colored with copics and highlighted with some microfine glitter....

Thanks for joining me.

I'm not really lost

WOW - just looked at the date on my last post.  I know it's been a while, but didn't think it was that long!!!   I've been busy and my poor craft room has missed me.  I've been to Las Vegas, San Diego, Seattle, Maine & New York and back to San Diego & New York since then along with a Caribbean Cruise a couple of weeks ago.  AND - not done yet - back to NYC for our early Christmas with the kids the beginning of Dec.  YIKES!!!

Anyway - have a few things to post in the CAS mode to get back into the swing.

To start, here are a couple of Christmas ornaments and/or package decorations that I did last week.

This one is a take on the 2012 SU Christmas catalog cover... the center is a silk poinsettia.

Here's take 2 - this one was using glimmer cardstock from Recollections and a Prima flower for the center that's sprayed with shimmer mist and the edges are dredged in Sparkling Snow glitter.

These ornaments were made using the Spellbinder's Ornament Dies from a couple of years back - one with regular cardstock and the other with glimmer cardstock... they're fun and easy to make.  The tops are buttons from SU.

Hope you enjoyed these.
Back soon - really!!!

ps...  here's a quick overview of a teeny bit of my summer
